Eileen Kupfer-Askin, PT, DPT, CBIS, is a physical therapist that specializes in treating the geriatric population. She received her Psychology degree from University of Maryland in 1990, her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from New York University in 1993 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Boston University in 2010. She has been practicing for 32 years.
Her background includes Neurological and musculoskeletal diagnoses. She has treated throughout the continuum of Care to include Acute and Subacute Rehab, home health and has spent her last 16 years in outpatient.
She has a passion for both the geriatric population and maximizing their optimal functional Independence. She believes that lack of mobility is what makes one age, and mobility is what combats the aging process. She lives by the motto, “he who saves a life, saves the world!”
In 2016, after losing her father to a fall, she implemented an evidence-based Fall Risk and Prevention Program. She is a Board-Certified Geriatric Specialist and an ICE Certified Specialist: Managing the Modern Older Adult.
