Subspecialty: shoulder, additional concentration in foot and ankle
OrthoMaryland's Dr. Reichmister, or as his patients fondly call him, “Dr. Jerry,” has been a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon for over 33 years. Highly regarded for his expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of the shoulder, he has led OrthoMaryland through years of growth and expansion while preserving its longstanding reputation for quality and integrity.
Dr. Reichmister is currently chief of orthopaedics and vice chairman of the board of trustees at Sinai Hospital, which has the highest number of orthopaedic admissions in the state. He is also an associate professor of orthopaedics and medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and an instructor in orthopaedics at the Johns Hopkins University Medical School.
In addition to his focus on shoulder problems, Dr. Reichmister concentrates on orthopaedic foot and ankle care. His pioneering work in these areas has been profiled in several prestigious orthopaedic journals.
Yet for Dr. Reichmister, the greatest joy comes not from professional recognition, but from the orthopaedics patients themselves. “It is gratifying to have treated so many people in our community over the years and see them get better,” he says. “That’s what being a doctor is all about.”
